Andrey was not so happy this morning at the orphanage. He screamed everytime he saw us. (He really knows how to make his new family feel his love.) We eventually left with him screaming. He was mesmerized by the car. He sat very still so still that he feel asleep for about an hour and a half. (Screaming also makes you tired.) When he woke up he was much happier, until he started vomitting all over him and us. He threw up at least four times. We then had to have his picture taken for his passport that is going to be one awesome picture. (NOT) He threw up once on the way to the apartment. Once in the apartment, things began to improve dramatically. Every few minutes he seems to be happier. He has eaten some macaroni and drank some apple juice. He has thoroughly checked out the TV and the washing machine. We have been playing with him for 30 minutes with him laughing. When he smiles we all go crazy. He seems to do a great job of imitating our actions and even some of the noises. He even said mama. I have gotten a couple of hugs. Todd and he are trying to figure out this bathroom thing with no luck yet.

well you know you will look back on this a laugh. you know you almost wonder what was said to him in the babyhome about this day? for him to be screaming at you. lol maybe he just had the ballard thing going and he doesnt know it yet. lol what a crazy happy big change for all of you. and todd and drey and the bathroom, I wonder if you find out how to say bathroom in russian. really I just wanted to hear todd try and say it. lol just kidding I am sooo happy to have your family complete. What a ride it has been. now just try and find normal in thier some place again! lol love ya all so much and WELCOME TO YOUR NEW FAMILY DREY.
ReplyDeleteToddlers are terrible from what I hear, especially when they are two years old. Unfortunately, they vomit too. Todd will figure the bathroom out. Try these words, "ванная комната" and if that doesn't work, "туалет".
ReplyDeleteHe seems to enjoy the stroller. That one picture with him in hte strolloer and smiling is so precious. He will adjust so quickly that you will be amazed. I sure he has a few tantrums left in him though.
ReplyDeleteHappy gotcha day Drey! What a wonderful way to start. Let's hope its not celebrated with puke every year. We are so excited for all of you. Nikolas can't wait to meet his comrad from his home country. Hope all goes well from here now that you are on the down hill slide.
ReplyDeleteBy the way can't wait to hear how court went (other than the lost document) and how they responded to the "house issue."
